8x30 is fine if you have a lot of dirty water in your area and you are using portable equipment where backwashing isn't regular. Typically for incenter pretreatment systems you would use 12x40. Higher rate of clogging but regular backwashing handles that. I respectfully disagree when the carbon is being used for chlorine/chloramine removal. 12X40 is what is specified. How would it be acceptable to use 8X30?

Falcon, I'm sorry for feeling the need to put this out there but it is for your/your fathers own good.
To All:
Falcon is the family member of a home patient in India. As many of you can imagine, things are much different there. Please make sure your responses are backed up by regulations. If something is your opinion or your company policy make sure you state that. He does not have the knowledge, experience, or resources that we have and giving advice that may be OK here in the US may end up being harmful there. In the past, he comes here (used to be RenalWeb) because he's trying to validate or disprove something that his father's team has said/does. We don't know the specifics of what he's told or his understanding of it. While his English is pretty good, I fear some details get lost in translation.
