Did everyone see the newsletter from Braun about the new 9.1E software coming out? My biggest takeaway of it is that PM's will only be every 24 months! Not all version 9X machines will be eligible for the upgrade, only machines sold since about 2017.

Yes i´ve heard about it. The 24m maintenance will be applicable for all SW 9.xx machines not only for sold ones since 2017. This meant for the 9.1E update.

btech - It would be nice to know where you got your information from because Germany has not released any details to us here in the USA as to what version (Software/Firmware/Hardware) machines are eligible for the 2 year PM.

We are currently installing new machines with the 9.1E software installed. However, the new IFU has not been released yet, so all things will remain as is for now.

What did you expect would change with the new SW 9.1E in the IFU ? We are currently installing new machines with the 9.1E software installed. However, the new IFU has not been released yet, so all things will remain as is for now.

Actually, there are limitations to which machines will be allowed to go to 24 month PM cycle. BUT, and this is the BIG BUT, until the NEW IFU (that means Instructions For Use, which is also commonly referred to as the Operator's Manual [which no one ever reads]) is published and RELEASED here in the USA, annual PM's will still occur. Only the IFU can provide for the performance of a two year PM interval. All EVO I and EVO II machines can be upgraded to 9.1E. A machine can go from 9.12 directly to 9.1E without any intermediate levels. HOWEVER, the temperature sensor change WILL be required.
There will actually be a machine serial number starting point specified, in the IFU, as to which machines are eligible to switch to a two year PM interval.
The machines being delivered have a new Motherboard and Digital Board. The digital board does not have a USB port any longer, and will become the new standard.
And, because IEC standards have been changed [perhaps tightened is a better term] for dialysate, the software now includes a conductivity plausibility and certification check just like 9.1B had the Temperature plausibility and certification check added. Both these features require added care in calibrating to insure passing the self test portion of Preparation.
For those who are just receiving the new 9.1E machines, it will look and work just like before, but loading sys config or software will be slightly different.
For those of you with Version 8 machines (joey), none of this matters, EXCEPT! You are already use to loading LLS SW from the software stick being plugged into the Motherboard. So if you get 9.1E machines, you will now find that method to be similar on them!

I'm hoping someone might be able to clear something up for me... I'm being told that we won't be upgrading to 9.1E because it requires replacing the Digital Board. Unless I've missed or misread something, I don't believe that's correct. Anyone help with this?

I absolutely would for the 24 month PM alone. Some of our patients have actually commented about how nice it is that their BP is taken as the cuff pumps up so it doesn't have to pump up so far.
