Hello all, Having issues with a Bluestar that only has about 4500 hours. The conductivity is running on the low side and is disrupting txs now. When only plugged into acid it will only go to 10.8-10.9. I have rebuilt and calibrated the pumps, tried different bicarbs (bibag, liquid, and even made some) all the bicarbs are in range. I've tried fresh acid and different baths. When plugged in to both, TCD at 13.5, machine will bounce between 12.9-13.1. In and out of range. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sounds like a bad Condo cell to me.

Check your acid and bicarb filters. Sometimes if dirty can cause low conductivity.

A torn balancing chamber membrane can cause low conductivity, but your machine doesn't have very many hours on it. The leak test is easy. It might be worth a shot.

Have you verified the displayed conductivity with an independent meter?

I changed both filters, and I verified it with my independent meter - which was also reading low

Keep in mind, I have still have a working knowledge of Fresenius machines but am far from an expert. This problem however sounds pretty generic.
You've already proved the problem isn't pump calibration, conductivity cells, or bicarb. That pretty much only leaves the balancing chamber. As dave74 said, it could be a torn membrane or, an air leak since the conductivity bounces. BC volume calibration is also a possibility.

Have you calibrated Dialysate Conductivity Cell, Bicarb Conductivity Cell and Conductivity Conformation Cell??
I've also found that after pump rebuilds with the updated spring kits, running machine through heat disinfect before doing any calibrations seem to "break in" the springs. It gives me a better calibration and typically puts me dead on TCD.

Easy to check you Balance chamber, take the drain hose hold at a 45 degree angle, if you get pulse stop pulse stop, balance chamber is ok, if you get a pulse dripple pulse stop in any order. you have a hole in the balance chamber.

Its possible transducer #10 could be the issue.

Are you saying when you change baths like going from a 2K2.5Ca to a 3K2.5Ca the conductivity goes up?

Your calibrations might not be saving due to bad IC20 chip or bad function board. Perhaps, you might have bad ACID pump.

I have had similar issue. when switching from 2k2.5 to 3K3 or 1K3.5 the condo was right on the border and will alarm during the treatment.
