I have a bluestar with11k hours alarming No 8mm in low volume. I went into service mode and checked my Allow slow flow. It was marked no so I entered yes. Made no difference so I put back to no. My blood pump is set for 8mm. I think it has something to do with the UF rate. I cant recall seeing this alarm before, or if I did, What the heck did I do! I do not see anything in the troubleshooting guide about this alarm, although I do remember seeing it in the old renalweb.

This is just guessing since I don't know the machine..... Is there a setting for "low volume" bloodlines that may be selected? 8mm is the pump segment size of standard bloodlines. Maybe "low volume" lines have a smaller pump segment?

Sounds like you have Low Flow turned on. Check the Test page.

The reason for this message is because someone enabled low volume in dialysis on the test and options screen. Turn it off there and the alarm will go away. It's a safety feature because low volume dialysis is used on pediatric patients, The blood tubing is smaller so 8mm setting cannot be used. That is what the message is alerting to.

Yes that was the problem, thank you. I saw it earlier on the test screen and it was greyed out and it didn't dawn on me. I'm getting old I tell ya!!!

Just remind the techs that the "low volume" selection does not lower the volume of the alarm....lol
I have come across this too many times since the update and that's been the main reason haha. "It was too loud, so I clicked the low volume during the line-set up"

We have been having this start to happen ever since upgrading to Bluestar. Never seen the alarm until then and it keeps happening more often. Our nurses know to look at the Low Flow setting on the test page now

I wish we could LOCK the Low Volume and High Flux settings in place. Keep finding them ON and OFF, respectively, and the staff tell me they don't touch it. Big F said they can't be locked...but we have the option to lock the VOLUME instead? :/

I think it's the PCTs accidentally hitting the button when they mean to hit Prime Recirc. There may be a problem due to the T upgrades, but I have this happen way more on my K2s. I've tried educating my clinical staff on this using the argument that taking five seconds to turn low volume off beats taking half an hour to pull the machine, replace it, and bring a new one up in conductivity and test it, but it never seems to stick and they forget what I told them by lunch time.

I had some machines with that problem. I fixed it turning OFF Low Volume in Dialysis mode at Test & Options. High Flux was Off.. I turned it ON. 100% tested!
