I'm getting water supply disturbed alarms on my old and my 5 new machines, at first I didn't ask about how often and exactly when so I upped the aquaboss ro's loop flow. when that didn't fix it I asked some more questions. they said it was every 20 minutes or so. I happened to be downstairs when the ro did a rinse and immediately went upstairs and sure enough they had the alarm. So it only happens during rinse. My first suspect was the surge tank but the check indicator shows a green ball. I do have a JIRA ticket in asking but figured I'd ask here as well.
incoming pressures are good, flow is good...the surge tank is the only thing I can think of right now...probably shouldn't put too much faith in that green/red ball feature...but it's a $2000 part so I want to be sure before ordering one...it is also about a year old, 11 months I think...are we supposed to change them annually or every 5 years?

Every 5 years. Turn off impulse backwash and see if it fixes it

I had a pressure tank go bad in just over a year after the system was installed. The green ball verification is on our daily log sheet to check first thing in the morning, every treatment day. The staff caught it, I disabled Impulse Backwash until I received/installed the new tank. Easy fix.

That's the weird thing, mine shows a green ball but after treatments yesterday I shut off the ro, opened the loop, but my pressure was zero. I turned impulse off and they didn't have any alarms today. worried the valve stem might be leaking, it's the same as an automotive tire I THINK, looks the same anyway. I figured it was the surge tank given the symptoms...if it's just a leaky valve stem I'm not asking for a $2000 part when a $0.50 one from oreilly's would fix it XD

It's the same. Tighten it up and see what happens! Or just add the air to it
