So I had another machine with multiple blood leak alarms...I already made a thread about that on another machine so since this is a different one I'm making this one.
Long story short, on my v9.12 machine there is a valve that sits RIGHT above the blood leak detector. I believe it is VDE, it was such a SLOW leak I never saw it till today. In fact it never dripped while I was there it only formed a drop that just sat there but obviously that's the issue. It would drip onto the top tubing on the blood leak detector thus coating the glass on the sensor and throwing it off. I am ordering a new oring for it. Also I rinsed off the sensor with RO water and it immediately dropped the reading. I recalibrated and it's reading good so another confirmation that was the issue.

Does the valve and PDA connect to a Grey plastic mount? Or is it the same color as the balance chamber? If it's grey, change it.

It's the one on the gray mount, pda right beside it...and I am going to have to, I replaced the oring twice and it still leaks. Figured the valve housing was cracked or something...gonna replace the gray mount too just to be sure. Wish I read your reply before messing with it!

Yupppp. Replace it for sure. It's called a Plastic Holder. They look different now.

I swapped a vde from a different machine that's waiting on parts and wasn't leaking on that machine...it still leaked though, only around vde. My co-worker has an unused in package gray "bracket", so two questions; will that work? and I'm guessing that gray bracket is the failed part not the valve or oring? I really thought a different vde and oring would fix it but no go

I would replace it with the new style, personally. Use the updated version. It will work though. The grey piece is what failed, yes.

So my co-workers wasn't new, I could see the outline of the vde valve on it. And it leaked. I'm not seeing any cracks on either though nor the valve. This has really got me scratching my head. The outline of the valve mounting surface is visible, and both gray pieces have this IDENTICAL very fine line across the bottom. But it just looks like, where the valve mounts, it doesn't fully cover the hole. I have another later machine with the white mount but I'm not seeing how those two can just be swapped...can they? It's down indefinitely so I can just swap the two out but they don't seem to be interchangeable. I have two machines on order but the request just went through so it would be several months, I need to get this thing running.
My only complaints about bbraun...you can't see conductivity on the treatment dialysis mode screen...they seem to break more than f's (granted may not be true just my bias) and they keep changing SO many parts among the same model. When F changed it was drastic (actually only the electronics, water rack barely ever changed save for the latest t's) but only on a new model and each variant of that same model was the same...sorry...just venting

The new plastic holder is like the balance chamber. Swap out the grey for that one. You’ll thank me later.

The updated off white mount is what I got THANKFULLY instead of another gray mount with larger oring...the off white (later model is white this one isn't) has a smaller oring and totally different mounting surface for vde but still the same size as the gray piece...the later model has something totally different and I don't think is swappable. Either way the off white update with small oring worked, no leaks now

Just as an FYI, because I have still found units in the field with the grey mounting block, the block develops micro cracks around the port for VDE. These cracks will open during heat disinfect, allowing liquid to bypass the O-ring seal and drip down (onto the BLD). So if you do not want to be changing out an expensive BLD, you might want to remove VDE during a PM and inspect the port with a glass. If you see any micro cracks what-so-ever, change it out.
There is a notice on the Service Portal about this.
