bcjammerx. Everything is working very well now, and we have had no issues.
I'm really starting to enjoy working on these now, I just wish they had a troubleshooting guide like fresenius. We got these machines a few years ago and nothing broke, so I had next to no time working on them except for the PM. Now, they are breaking left and right and I'm trying to remember what I learned. I know they have a small section on their site for troubleshooting but to me, it's nowhere near as nice as what Big F put out. People will argue we should know what we are doing and I agree, but when I started fixing dialysis machines in the early 80's and the Fresenius machine came out I used that manual extensively because their tech support sucked. Now, could fix them it in my sleep. When I'm in a rush, I cover 12 acute hospitals and their cvvh program in 2 states, I don't have time to screw around and wait for someone to return my call or answer Jira, I want something in front of me that will lead me to the fix, then I'll put 2 and 2 together and rationalize why it happened, what caused it, what the signs were and what the fix was.
We all have our opinions and learn in different ways. I'm still trying to figure out Brauns tech support because some people are very helpful, some arrogant and give you sarcastic answers, and some that just lead you in circles for days.

At the very least, you need to calibrate the temp sensors. TSDE and TSDE_S are 5-6 degrees low. ENDLF is running 14.3 which is a sodium of about 144. Is that intentional? His machine was in bypass at this stage VDE and VDa were closed thats why TSDE and TSDE-S were so low. cause in bypass there is no flow over this two sensors. just saying not judging

I honestly see them as breaking down a little less than F's...my only issues are more to do with frequent drastic water side changes, and not giving new oring with parts!! dango F's basically never changed the water rack...well last new T's the company i was at got a rash of ones that had 4 new additional valves that kept going bad (set off a service note for everyone so was addressed) and these new valves were easily visible and you thought "oh that's gonna take me 30min" but all the mounting bolts were hidden, took two 20+ year exp. tech 2 hours on their second and+ machines...eek!
but yeah, I love 'em Really like not having to rebuild motors every 6 months to a year and doing annual pm's only

I've been at this game for going on 43 years now and have worked with/on Drake Willock, Gambro (AK-10 and Phoenix), Althin, Baxter, Redy, Braun, and Fresenius. Each one had or did at least one thing that was better than others. While there are things I think Braun could and should do/make better, IMHO (ok, not so humble), they are still the best and most reliable machine out there. On top of that, their tech support leaves all the others in their dust! Braun's biggest problem is Germany and the fact that Bethlehem can't do anything without their blessing. I think that a big part of our exceptional experience with the Braun machines is that, bleach has never touched the inside of our machines.
If you like just doing a annual PM, just wait till they finally release the 9.1E IFU and the PM goes to 24 months!

Ahhh the Redy 2000. We used that in the Navy all the time. One of my favorites was the Cobe C2RX when that came out. All the nurses a had a pot adjuster tool and fixed them their selves.
I do like the Brauns better, and think they are built way better. I just want a clearer path on troubleshooting them. I have a machine down now which I posted about and I'm still working on trying to get it fixed after almost a week and that is utilizing their tech service.
2 year PM sounds nice!!

If you're talking about the magnet dust problem, I can see where that's can be a long drawn out problem. It not only sounds like the possible cause could be coming from a number of different places but it's also likely that it is more than just one of them. We've only had the magnet problem once and we got lucky as the machine just kept running and even passed DFS test.
