I work hard. Harder than I'd like at times, but I do this to provide for my family and to ensure they have all that they need and want. I am a Tech manager for 2 units. I cover 2 others while providing training to the new hire. So my days are stretched thin and I'm doing everything in my power to not snap on the little things. I am very effective at my job considering how long I've actually been in the field. I feel like I'm appreciated by my coworkers and managers, especially considering where I was to where I've gone.
90% of this job, I've pretty much learned on the fly. I have constantly referenced the hell outta my TS Book. 99% of my problems can be solved with reading through the guide and taking my time on each step. A lot of you have also helped me just by posting various problems and fixes, which I THOROUGHLY appreciate. If I can't find it in the book, y'all generally got the answer.
So... I got one for y'all. Drama and pettiness. How does one handle the infighting between managers and clinics? Or feeling like being forced to choose sides. Generally when one manager starts complaining about the other manager, I usually get a phone call from the other 5 minutes later. One handles it with grace, the other... well... the gracefulness of Mr. Magoo. When they get going, I generally find my way to one of the clinics I'm covering. Less drama.
I don't feel like I can be an effective manager when both of my managers are in a constant battle. We just got a survey from our company. Our answers go to the Clinic Managers. I can't be honest and not feel like I won't get some sort of retaliation. So, I'm asking for your input. How do you handle the stress from the drama and pettiness? Any input?
