error "high uf volume error-terminate treatment"
I saw this when I got home so figured I'd ask before I looked at it tomorrow. It feels like an incorrect patient weight/uf pull data entry (user error). Does this have a typical cause? I've never seen this error before, only thing I can think to check would be the uf pump calibration, but it just "feels" like a user error

The times we've had this it was always related to the UF pump. Pretty equally between the motor being bad and the piston pump sticking.

Also check the supervisor sensor to make sure it's reading accurately. If the supervisor disagrees from the controller, it'll do this.

We have seen this a few times also and calibrating the UF would take care of it for a short time but, with the exception of just once, the problem always came back in a couple weeks. |

Sometimes it is just a defect O-ring in one of the hansens blue or red

First off thanks for all the help!!!!!
I checked the log and everything was good; everything agreed. the tech it happened to (is also new) showed me a pic of the screen (I've trained them well) and it stated above the red alarm that the data was put in wrong *facepalm...still figured I'd check it out, I'm here after all lol
the pump body is actually new and spins like brand new still, the motor is a newer style and spun well, no noises. No buildup in the lines (I clean them every pm)
I'm running a 2hr mock treatment and going to check for pull volume and alarms. I'll go ahead and just replace the hansens just for good measure, on my fresenius machines I was replacing those pretty frequently anyway.

I did check the supervisor and uf rate sensor, they agreed.
I did a 2 hr mock treatment, pulled 1500 and it came about 1-200 short which is WAY off...but short not over as the alarm was stating...not sure what the specs are on the range it can be but I'm not happy if it isn't right on. Still it never alarmed or alerted one bit. Either way pretty sure only pulling 1300 instead of 1500 isn't cool
I re calibrated the uf pump and did a 1.5 hour treatment with another 1500 pull. It only got to within 50 this time, still not happy with that, maybe my scale was off. My scale did seem to give me slightly different readings when I picked up the container and placed it right back on but only by .01 or .02 g and when I did the calibration it rounded my measurement up from ?.48 to .5 I don't have a beaker that reads .5 ml increments so I have to use the scale but doesn't seem that degree of accuracy matters, to my annoyance; uf pull accuracy is one of those things I'm anal about...when I did fresenius pm's there was a range for uf calibration but I didn't care because if it wasn't DEAD ASS SPOT ON I would redo it until it was. Still it never alarmed or alerted the second time either. Pretty sure this was always a user error but never hurts to go through and check stuff I guess, I tell myself that anyway XD meh, kept me busy the second half of the day and my mind off bs in my life
if it gets pulled again I'll update

It is 500ml/h plus or minus 15 so you run it for 30 at the default 2000 and it should be 250 so if it is 7 off you double it to 14 which would be in range which makes 50 out of range. Is it consistently taking less or more than what you have it set for ?

I calibrated the uf pump and it still drew less but much better, it was the end of the day and right at clock out time so I didn't get it spot on. I'm going to get a better scale (this one kept giving me different measurements when all I would do is lift and place back down my beaker) so I will do another uf pump calibration monday
it's still pulled so no biggy. My test was 2hrs the first time and 1.5 the second. I'll finish the calibration monday, thanks for the tip

Each time you calibrated it was the amount it pulled different (meaning during the calibration)? If so what were the volumes?

The maximum allowed deviation betwen supervisor and controller is 400ml if this limit is exceeded this alarm will come up

Hello all, I wanted to add to the thread because I've had this happen a few times on different machines and I ended up replacing the hall sensor UFP_S and calibrating the pump with no returns! Looking through the trends is a good way to see what's going on. Especially when staff will tell you about how long into therapy things happen!
