For anyone who uses Rockwell concentrate.....You may want to start exploring other options. Over the last 6 months, our price has more than DOUBLED! In my experience, when a company does something this drastic, they are trying to price themselves out of the market. Baxter did this with parts pricing when they took over the Althin Tina machine.
We already use Fresenius for gallon jugs and an occasional drum so we planned on switching to them and pumping it ourselves but, they can't accommodate our business. They also then told us that they will be doing away with drums within the next 12 months.
Fasten your seatbelts....It's going to get interesting!

Thank you for the heads up.
What would be the motivation? Trying to get everyone to switch to dry acid? Are you saying that fresenius is getting rid of drums in the next 12 months? We use evoqua, formerly medivatiors, for our acid and i have been having a heck of a time with that. Only getting partial orders, no communication, etc.

I hate to tell you but there is something going on with all concentrate vendors. It's either a shortage of the ingredients or labor or both. Trying to switch to an alternate vendor may be difficult right now. We use Evoqua (formerly Medivators) and we are struggling to get certain numbers of concentrate. No one can tell me tell me why.

We did get a letter about the end of November from Baxter/Rockwell. The 2 were partnered up and on 12/31/2022 they were parting ways. Could be the price increase for Rockwell. I do not officially know

it feels like the companies are trying to force our hands to switching to dry acid and mixing our own....... which would be fine but the fact that the equipment cost and lack of room for the mixer make it difficult to force that hand........

Well they probably don't want the headache of doing drums after all the issues they had the last few years. They can sell us mixers and powder and there is less on them.

Right now they wont sell mixers as they do not know if they can produce enough dry acid to maintain them all. Its going to get interesting to say the least when no will make primary ingredient for dialysis

Funny you should bring this up. We have been involved with a friggin goat-rope with Rockwell over the past month or so. Ended up with my 36-station being left with 100 gallons of our Primary acid supposedly to last for a further week. (Some SERIOUS govt math there)
I will tip our purchasing and mgmt to this and let them look into it.
We don't need no stinking seat belts...if this keeps up, we'll need STRAIGHTJACKETS.

Our latest battle this week is that we had 4 drums delivered by common carrier to our most remote clinic out in the mountains of Western Maryland 3.5 hours away. The drum caps are put on so tight and noticeably deeper into the bungs that our staff can't open them to pump them into our tanks. Rockwell just requested pictures so they can decide if they will bring us replacement drums and pick these up. Hopefully we don't run out while they play their games!

I started throwing out the bung plugs that are chewed up or a PITA to get out. If THEY aren't going to do any QC, *I* will...and we get to pay for the privilege! lol
Out of the kindness of their hearts, Rockwell allowed us to give them almost $2K to have a carrier bring me some barrels to keep my clinic going until next week.
They are on my Christmas card list...o wait, wrong list...

All major players involved? From my end (we get our supply from evoqua) It has been like pulling teeth to get our supply of K2 and any communications go either unresponded or there is a shortage of supplies but i dont know what that means..... Is it the acid, the salts in the acid, the drums, etc......?
