Anyone know why B. Braun (v9.1b) would struggle to pass bloodside tests and if/when it does, runs very high TMP when using a lo-flux dialyser? I've not found machine settings relating to this. I sent a Jira support requests and awaiting response from the manufacturer pros. I'd also appreciate insight from anyone here. Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance Much more information is needed: - What blood side test is failing?
- What is the UF Goal for the treatment?
- How long is the treatment?
- What are the A & V pressures during treatment?
- What dialyzer is being used?
- What is the UF coefficient of the dialyzer?

Also What is the dialysate flow rate and blood flow rate set to? Is heparin being used? Does the TMP get higher as the treatment progresses? Is it a catheter/new catheter Was the patient on a high flux then moved to a low flux? If so what was the TMP when they were on a high flux?

There are two parts to the Bloodside test. The Pressure Sensor test and the Leakage test. Which are you referring to?
Common reasons for failures:
Pressures: Not properly calibrated Bad sensor Bad PA/PV monitoring board (V9 EVO II) Bad Regulation Manifold (V9 EVO I) (Bad regulation pump/tubing)
Leakage: Tubing not properly inserted into SAKV clamp Tubing guide under SAKV clamp broken (allows tubing to move) Manual Level Adjustment port (cap and clamp) on venous chamber not properly closed off (allows PV to leak off) Bad Blood Pump roller (spring missing from one roller arm) (PV builds, then drops; repeat)
Poor connections to dialyzer (PV leaks off)
Weak connection to PV/PA manometer connectors Defective PV manometer connector VBT is leaking (controls transfer of PV pressure to PA sensor)

Must have had a "DOH" moment and figured it out. The original poster has not been back on the forum since the post was made over a week ago.

I hate blood side tests...most of my errors are during them...ugh. It's so easy for the machine to fail them too even when nothing is really wrong

bcjammerx: If you provide more info about the machine you are having problems with (i.e., SW Ver. number [V8/V9.xx]; platform type [EVO I {with or without level regulation; EVO II}) we may be able to give you some tips to resolve your problems more quickly. The motto of B Braun is Sharing Expertise. Helping you to understand the machine better makes our workload easier.
