My uncle may be going on dialysis soon and I have a question about a possible method.
If the patient and the spouse are the same blood type, can a continuous nocturnal transfusion be done essentially using the spouse's two good kidneys to cleanse the blood of both people? This would be a continuous process removing blood from the patient, through the spouse and returned back to the patient.
Is this possible?

Like in the Mad Max movies?
A persons kidneys work 24hours a day non stop. You would essentially be super loading the good person with waste. Whats to say this does not shut their kidneys down too? also how would you pump into 1 person and then pump back into the other?

This does not sound like real science or dialysis tbh. If they are a compatible blood type, maybe find out if one spouse can donate one of their kidneys to the other.
