I've looked over the fresenius support page. Does anyone know if there is a written time frame for how long it takes to perform and annual and semi annual preventative maintenance? The higher ups are rewriting my job description and need an estimated time frame.

anual 6 -8 hours semi -4 hours the higher ups need to do these themselves to determine the times some take longer due to problems

annual 6-8 hours, semi 4 hours Typically, my semi's take about 5 hours and my annuals take about 7. I'm pretty detail-oriented and take my time though, so Gnurk's numbers might be more accurate depending on your style and time management.

Thank you! according to my current job description, I am only supposed to be spending 10% (32hr) of my time a per month working on machines. I have 30 in my unit.

It takes exactly the time it needs to so that the job gets done correctly, plus fixing anything else that is busted up inside the machine. Do the work so that your only opening the machines twice a year.(semi and annual). We all seen things that are not right in them and crusty all on the inside, but hey I did the annual in 3 hours and staff are pulling the broke machine 6 days later.
I also thought how dialysis could go the route of auto mechanics/ hair stylist. The nurses and techs rent the chair space and dialyze people charging them what ever to make booth rent.
On technical it would be Oh hey we will only pay you for 5 hours to do an annual, if it takes longer, thats on you and you loose out, and if it takes less good for you because your still getting paid for 5 hours. Everything repair wise would be charged like this.

According to TMS (Fresenius charting system) an annual has an estimated time of 5 hours and a semi-annual has an estimated time of 3 hours. Obviously, this is going to vary dependent on bluestar vs non-blustar, whether you need to change out brushes, having to re-calibrate things, etc.

I give myself 4 hour for semi annual and 10 for annual. There always seems to be something on an annual that takes more time not to mention the fact that its NEVER just a PM, someone is always coming to ask you to take care of something else or look at something or a delivery or ....... etc.

Your PM takes 3 or 5 hours. Everything you do outside of "verify" is a repair. It's called learning to play the accounting game. It's all that the folks with business degrees understand. In other words, when in France speak French.

Actual time it takes to do a PM will depend on your skill level and how thorough you are. Looking at everyone's times so far I'm wondering if I'm doing them correctly and I'm OCD lol! Semi takes me 1.5-2 hours and an annual takes me 4-5 if things run smoothly. I'm pushing 20k hours on my T's and looking at my metrics, I have less than 5 machines pulled a year and the common cause is the UF check valve coming apart and leaking due to poor part manufacturing (my opinion!). Paper work may or may not reflect a higher time for the big wigs
