Watch out for the new blood pump rotor and the potential for the tubing to be pinched and cut open. Had one do that recently and it was a mess. Not much help from FMC except they will replace the rotor free of charge with one of the same. gee, thanks. I was told to check all of the rotors for loose plastic caps on the tubing guides. Not something I can just do right away, so hoping it won't happen again until I can inspect them all! Sheesh!

I found one with the inner guide bent and plastic piece was missing. Called Fresenius and they said it was probably the staff pulling the tubing out forcefully. I've watched my staff, well not all the time, but I rarely see them pulling the tubing. Plus it was the inner guide bent! How is that possible even if the staff happen to pull the tubing out. Wouldn't the outer pin be bent?

I'm in the same boat with mine. It doesn't seem like the caps are secured well enough. I've been able to super glue some of the caps back on, but these new rotors seem to be subpar quality.
Make a separate product complaint for every rotor issue you have. FMC won't really do anything about faulty parts unless they get enough reports to warrant a failure analysis. Then maybe we can get a revision that isn't terrible.

so, if its one of the F000whatever part number ones, call up cust service, as they warrantied 2 of the ones i had that failed. the little plastic rollers snapped off and the parts kit i ordered to replace them was a joke ( two little plastic peices to pop on and a guide roller with a mushroomed head. you basically put the guide rod through the roller, and loctight'd it back into that threded hole. they sent me 2 new ones.
