I have a 2008T NON bibag that has approx. 32,000 hours
when it is sitting in biomed area everything looks good all pressures from top to bottom
but when patient goes on machine Arterial Pressure goes to -270 or -280 and cant run blood pump above 300 or 400.
this has happened on at least 3 different patients in different sections of the clinic. Also different techs.
So i am thinking it is the machine.
I calibrated ALL pressures

There are a few things that can make arterial pressures go high. The first is checking the pressure against an external meter. If it's off then calibrate it. If its leaking more than 2 PSI over 30 seconds then you may have an internal leak. It looks like you calibrated it, did you have to adjust anything when you did the arterial pressure calibration or was it spot on when you did it? The second is check the blood pump. Is the rotor in good condition and is it calibrated properly? The third which you have no control over is just bad sticks from the staff, or fistula's/graft's that are in bad condition. You can always just string the lines, fill them full of saline and let it run. The typical arterial pressure when saline is running through the system is around -60. Check to see if that is where the pressure is at. If everything is good from the machine standpoint, then it's likely a pt/staff issue.

Are you sure your arterial pressure reading is accurate? Is 0 is 0 on your test meter, +290 is 290, and -300 is 300?
Are you certain the indicated blood pump speed is accurate?
I can't see anything that would restrict the flow from the patient to the drip chamber.

Check the transducer protector/line or connecting tube. It happened to me. It was ok in the repair room. It ended up being a small cut in the tube by the clamp

Did you find your problem. I just had this on 2 machines. Calibrating the A.pressure didn't solve the issue. It was LP955. I spoke with a couple of my biomeds and they said they are seeing more of this too.

I have had 3 machines in the past year where arterial pressure is stuck at -220 with no one connected to the machine(sometimes staff see this and connect a patient up anyways, but that is a story for another time). When it happens with a patient on the machine the -220 acts like the new zero and chaos ensues with the tech/nurses.
If i just go into the calibration and do nothing then exit the pressure "fixes" itself. then machines would go an undefined amount of time then have it happen again. Changing the LP955 board was the only true fix
