If it is staying that way for longer than 5 minutes,(if machine is put through a factory reset all Wi-Fi and times are lost and need to be uploaded from an internet connection.) make sure you are getting an internet connection. If your internet connection is okay and it's taken longer than 5 minutes then I would use the troubleshooting document that pacnw linked to. If you aren't getting an internet connection, then I would troubleshoot that first.

Any time I have a chairside issue that isn't fixed by the Ctrl + Fn + Z keystroke, I go straight to the nuclear option and reset. That fixes 99% of the issues I see in my fleet.
If you have already tried resetting, and you have an internet connection as @therearesomewhocallmetim mentioned, try opening the Terminal app and entering the commands "time" and "date." That will force the LinuxOS to fetch new time/date data, just give it a few minutes to reflect on the system.

I've found connecting to the Internet works most óf the time. Some reason, on WiFi it doesn't keep the time correct.
