I have a k2 with 37000 hours, machine passes test and runs treatment with no problems, but during the second half of heat disinfect it starts spitting long streams of water out of the vent tubing. I have followed the troubleshooting guide with no steady lead. TIA

In my experience, the two most common causes of this problem are a bad inlet pressure regulator and a leaking heat exchanger. When I check the inlet pressure regulator, I hook up my test gauge just like I would if I was calibrating the inlet pressure regulator. I turn the machine off but leave the water on. If the test gauge spikes, the inlet pressure regulator is bad and needs to be replaced or rebuilt.
When I check the heat exchanger, I leave the water on but power off. I remove the soft tubing on the inside right of the heat exchanger. If water comes out of the port, the heat exchanger is leaking.
Check the inlet pressure regulator first. If it is bad, it might cause problems when you check the heat exchanger.
