I got a BB dialog + 9. software. Tx runs fine no problems, But in citric therm disinfect it will always give "Emptying of upline-tank not possible" . If tech picks just thermal disinfect also runs great. Not sure where to start with this one.

jj,
At the start of citric/thermal, the upline tank needs to empty so that it can then be filled with citric acid. The machine knows this happens by the level sensor going from HIGH, to MEDIUM, then to LOW which indicates that it is empty. The frequent causes of the problem is a bad/sticky level sensor or the inlet valve leaking water in. In the case of the valve, it is usually a small bit of debris stuck in it which can be cleaned out.

You didn't specify if it was at the beginning or near the end of the Citric Thermal disinfection. Also, the 9.XX (which specific version) and hours on the machine.

As chuck has said above ensure the level sensor for the tank is working as expected and reading low when emptying the tank We have also found that it is sometimes due to a worn FPE pump not being able to pull the water out of the tank quick enough, the machine times out and chucks an error message on screen Please update your findings @jj

Dont know if solved or not, i just want to put my 2 cents in. this error can have multiple causes a Pump, PDA Sensor, the NSVB or even the VEB valve.
Upline Tank emptying not possible followed by a VBICP test failure is mostly the blocked or weak FPE. -the pump shaft blocks only if it’s real hot and you get a reduced speed / flow -the inadequate water supply from the FPE pump to the FPA pump has a consequence, the PDA shows a negative pressure, the water starts degassing -this air now blocks the complete the DF Filter -follow up Alarm: “VBICP Test not ok” and “Emptying of upline tank not possible”
Additional you can check for any obstruction inside the BIC circuit like FBK1 or cartdrige holder.

I have a ver 9.12 machine. Upline tank no emptying when I start citric disinfection. NSVB goes to med. I get the enptying alarm. I hear a sucking noise. Then I see alot of air in the system. FPE & FPA cuts off. I have replaced and calibrated PE and PDA. Replaced FPE pump. Replaced bic wand connectors. If i put machine in rinse, it rinses air out. Please help.

Most likely cause is the level sensor in the upline tank or the inlet valve is leaking.
