Anyone have issues with adjusting valve 64 during a PM? We were completing our annual and when we were trying to calibrate valve 64, it just started leaking. We ordered another one and it did the same thing. We cannot get the pressure anywhere near the target of 8 bar (116psi). When we install the new one, it reads 175psi. As we turn it counterclockwise to lower the pressure, it starts leaking profusely and won't stop. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Called Marcor tech support and was told to leave it at the factory setting. The problem with that is the unit screams like a steam pipe.

Have you tried adjusting while the RO is off? Does it leak when you start the RO back up? I refuse to believe a Marcor tech would suggest to leave it at factory setting with that high of a PSI and that will shorten the RO's lifespan whether it be RO pump or membranes. Shoot.. the connections and other valves might start leaking sometime down the road. I would call tech support again and specifically ask for Joe. He is the man of the "bible"
It could be faulty valve manufacturing from their supplier too. Get a replacement sent to you again.

Those valves have a lock on them. Are you loosening the outer lock nut, then pushing in to make the adjustment, and then pulling back to tighten the outer lock nut? That one always turns into a screamer after a year or so for me. Sometimes adjusting #52 and/or #71 a little can help with the scream

Are you sure it's valve 64 causing the screaming. Valve `106 will scream too and it sounds just like 64... it's not the valve causing the noise but rather the Stainless steel post that the valve sits on. The stainless wears off and causes the noise. Marcor sells just the post and the part number is W2T915384. I've been fooled by this one before thinking valve 64 the whole time but that replacement didn't work. Valve 106 repair fixed it. No more screaming
