Back in the late 80's early 90's, Fresenius came out with a module that mounted on the side of the H machines, I can't remember what it was called. It could be configured to do 1 acid and 1 bicarb bag or, 2 of either. The bags with the powder were spiked and hung on load cells then a acid or bicarb connector was plugged onto the spike. When you started it filling, pinch valves inside the module would open/close filling the bag to the appropriate weight/volume, I believe it was 6L. Once filled, you had to disconnect it from the module and shake the bag to finish dissolving the powder. You would then hang it on the machine and connect the appropriate acid/bicarb connector to it.
The system had its issues such as the load cells were not durable and the pinch valves had a nasty habit of cutting the tubing there were supposed to pinch. It was however a way for Fresenius machines to move away from liquid bicarb.
Anyone else remember this system?

I always wondered why they did not do a bibag system for acid as well. Different color coded bags for each acid type they offer
