Thank you in advance

If using the independent conductivity setting on the machine it depends on if you are actively using liquid bicarb or the bibag. If you are using liquid bicarb then you would need to do a ph reading on the machine to verify it. Fresenius prefers that we use ph paper vs a separate meter to do this verification. If you are using the bibag then the independent conductivity passing includes the ph passing as well. If you typically use bibag, but need to use liquid instead for a treatment the ph must be tested. Further if the machine fails the independent conductivity twice the machine must be pulled. Staff cannot use a meter to verify the condo and ph if the machine failed the test.

At the clinics I work with, 2 being wholly Fresenius, 7 being JV's, we kept one meter in service at each clinic( we have Myron d-6's), took the others out of service and stored em.
you need one meter for your water room to check bicarb and such for daily operations. it will still need to be checked daily, verified and documented in TMS.
If you have BiBag machines, they do PH on their own, so you don’t need to do anything more than the pre and post cals during your service period, and have the appropriate setting selected in service mode. To signoff you just need to document P or F in the signoff section for pass or fail baised on the results on the self test screen.
If you have non-bibag machines, you have to do an external verification using PH test strips ( PN: 24-178V-0 in SAP) and 2 staff must verify for incenter, or if its an acute with a signed special exceptions policy from the MD, then the single verification. The ph must be documented in the chairside signoff with the reading value between 6.9 and 7.6.
