not sure why you all are having check valve failures I have been changing the check valves every 6 months takes about 10-15 seconds to switch them cost is around $20 it's a lot cheaper then trying to stretch to a year and have other failures like the motors getting wet..

I agree with robertb- using this device in my humble opinion makes one less apt to need to change the check valves as scheduled because it can no longer damage the motors. I also think it would hinder even looking at them whenever you have the hydraulic compartment out for repair.
The quality of Repair/Maintenance has greatly diminished in the past 10 years in my experience- some could argue due to work load, however if your not changing parts- your not completing your job correctly and that is very hard to to catch aside from babysitting each staff member.
What has helped; was I use a small cable tie around the body of them, this hasn't stopped them from failing completely, but has minimized the amount of leaks, to the point I do not see many (maybe one a year) wet spots or buildup on the pumps/cabinet/or check valves during Semi Annual Pm's . A rumor that a solid stainless steel check valve is in the works. I guess they originally made them in two body pieces so when quality control failed and the valve part was installed backwards we could fix it?!

I have these and there are 2 problems with these that I can see. If you have a bi-bag machine, they will not fit. These are meant for either the K machines or the machines that have the screws that hold the pumps in place facing the other direction. You also can't snap the brushes in place if this cover is on unless you have an angled pick or other form of tool to get underneath the cover. They are good covers, just not meant for the newer machines unless someone else has a better idea on mounting these to the newer machines.
