Hi everyone I'm curious when you replace the diaphragm of balance chamber, will you take the whole balancing chamber out or not? It's really hard to disassemble the chamber itself when it's in the UF Sub-Rack. If you do not take the whole chamber out, how to empty the chamber completely? I try the emptying function in the TSM but still have lots of water in it. Does anyone have a better way to replace the diaphragm? Best regards

Hi Kimi, Normally I remove the entire chamber and put it on a bench to work on. The hoses are just long enough to reach the valves so putting them back is easy, and the wires are all labeled

I don't take it all the way out. I take the balance chamber loose from the tray and carefully remove the screws holding the chamber together (note: I use a cordless screwdriver to make it faster). I place a trash can under the tray and I'm able to catch most of the water. Before I start, I make sure to remove the tubings from VEBK1 and VEBK2 so I don't break off MSBK1 or MSBK2. You can split the chamber enough to slide the old membranes out and new membranes in. This works for me. If taking it all the way out makes you more comfortable, by all means do so. I've done this enough times over the years that I have gotten pretty fast at it.

I'm with Qman to an extent( I do not remove the tubing)...if you loosen the screws holding it in place and I also loosen the screws holding in VLA. I pull the tray out 90% of the way then use pliers and a screwdriver and pull the bolts out far enough to get both membranes out. It's not the "easiest" way but for me it's the quickest and everything stays together.

taking it totally out is a nightmare...so many tubes and sensors to plug back in and keep track of where exactly they go so you don't spend the next week figuring out what got put in the wrong spot. It would take me twice as long if I took it all the way out. I loosen (not remove) the bottom mounting screws, pull it up a bit, place a towel around it and open it up. You have to finagle it and you'll have to figure out what tools get in best but I can usually use an electric screwdriver and a thin ratchet on most of the housing bolts, a couple I don't have room for the electric screwdriver though.
I end up disconnecting msbk 1/2 as you can't move the chamber around with them connected.
The water inside thing isn't a big deal, even a rag can catch it all...but it's fun to leave that out when training someone XD The water usually goes right to the crotch
