I have been getting Morton Softner salt with rust defense( green bag )- the salt is grayish/opake color and the water in the brine tank is tinted and a blackish residue-is anybody else seeing this- my supply come from FMC

Urgent Guidance Memo
Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to inform Fresenius Kidney Care (FKC) facilities that FKC Biomedical Services has received reports from FKC clinics that a certain lot of Morton Salt may contain pellets with grey discoloration and to remind facilities to continue inspecting salt pellets when filling the Brine tank(s).
Background
FKC Biomedical Services has received reports from FKC clinics of grey discoloration in bags of Morton Salt pellets. There have been no reports of patient injury.
Neither Fresenius Medical Care Renal Therapies Group, LLC or Morton have issued a product notification and/or recall at this time.

Information
Clinical Managers/Area Technical Managers and Biomedical Technicians please do the following:
Continue to inspect salt pellets when filling Brine tank(s) for any salt pellets exhibiting any discoloration If you discover salt that is discolored remove this product from your inventory and place the product in a secure, segregated area If you find any salt with discoloration please submit a product complaint: Product Complaints Form-PolicyTech If any of the salt bags in inventory or salt in the Brine tank has pellets with discoloration: Remove both unused and partially used salt bags from your inventory and sequester in a secure location. Turn off the Softener Controller to prevent regeneration Empty, clean and disinfect the brine tanks Share communication with all appropriate facility staff, Medical Director, and attending physicians. Review communication during your next QAI meeting; document this review in the QAI minutes. Complete a Medwatch Form, as appropriate, if adverse events are encountered with the use of this product.
