Been having trouble hiring Equipment Techs with B.Braun experience, Maybe we are out of touch with pay and benefits. We start at $28/hr 200 hours PTO a year to start + 40 more after first year, with option to sell back 160 a year. Full healthcare dental vision $28 (Blue cross blue shield, 24 checks a year) a paycheck for individual, around $120 for family max out of pocket is around $50 per visit. Option for 10+ OT hours a week. ON Call Pay, Mileage Shift, Differential on weekends and nights, 12 paid Holidays. 401K match i believe is 6% 33% vested each year. This is in South West (Not California). I know my last Equipment Tech was making 100K+ a Year with bonuses and Covid Pay last 3 years. Retired In January. There are also yearly bonuses, Christmas Bonus, and a Employee appreciation Bonus each year for additional 3-4K. Pay days are every other week 26 a year.
This is for coverage of a 20 station unit and 7 acute machines. Also cover On call for 40 station unit every 3rd weekend. On call pay is 100 hour a week 2 dollars a hour to Cover Home unit. We have a separate Facilities Department covering building issues.
IS Davita Fresenuis independents Paying better? Not sure if everyone else is having same problem finding staff
What is starting Pay in your area for 2 years experienced Tech

I will leave this post here for the weekend but then it will be deleted. Even though you you posed this as a question, it's clearly a help wanted ad. Help Wanted ads are allowed in the Help Wanted forum by registered members following the posted guidelines.

I’m kind of partial to hearing about this and what others are making. I think it’s good to be open about pay scales and what is going on there. People are often too afraid to speak up about their benefits and pay. Additionally, it helps people understand what the “industry standard” is so people don’t get screwed.

I can tell you from what I've heard from people working at other facilities.....the job that is open at your place would be an improvement for a lot of people.

IT IS NOT A JOB POSTING(Not sure why the "Great" CHUCK got offended I left no email or specific location on my open positions or made any offers), I am struggling to find help and looking to push our HR department to increase pay and offer incentives. Sadly i thought sharing what we offer might shed some light on where i can go to our HR department and increase offering.

You provide all the "details" to entice people to inquire for more information. Add to that, what you state is so much more than industry standard (dialysis) that it sounds too good to be true. Lastly, fair warning, personal attacks will get your IP address banned.

To be fair, I asked Chuck to leave this open because it's an interesting thread. I agree it doesn't sound like a job posting thread, but, come on dude, cool it down a little would ya?

That would be a vast improvement on most BMETs in the Renal field. This has got to be a hospital or independent position. With F and D you would have to be RTOM or higher to start making that kind of money. On call pay is way better as well.

I'm on the east coast... and our starting pay is below $28., but our on call pay is $270. Have not seen any bonuses of any kind, just our regular annual merit pay increase, which is a joke.

i don't work for Fresenius anymore but i was only making 17 an hour as an inexperienced biomed 1. only 2 years later i was offered a job with a different company making just under 28$ and yet i was doing far far more work under Fresenius.

I'm making more but not much and have around 30 stations and cover around 130 stations when on call. Ultimately, it is how desperate you are. I know of a clinic that has had more biomeds since I started than years I've been with the company, but my clinic hasn't had any turnover during the same time. Sometimes it is finding the right fit. My tip is if you are a rural area don't hire outsiders because if they are willing to move there they are willing to move away for better pay. Find someone and train them. The other issue is growth, what options for promotion and pay raises are there? If you are maxed out quickly I can see people moving out to greener pastures that offer the payday.

Midwest USA. Pay range for one of the two larger providers is pretty low. $19 - $24 for some very experienced technicians. Very underpaid for the responsibility that is laid on them.

Currently hospital based BMET. Employer sold most of the dialysis program a couple years ago. As far as dialysis equipment I am still responsible for a couple central water systems, half dozen dialysis machines and some CRRT machines. A little over $40 an hour. Pay was the same when I was working full time in dialysis with 10 clinics and 150 machines. Was never on call but carried a cell phone home with me. If I was available and answered the call I was paid an hour of time. Certified and member of a union.

Depends on the area and if it's in the city or not...and how big that city is. I worked with two dialysis companies, acutes then clinics...traveled an hour to each of the clinics I serviced. typically had 5 clinics I serviced with each job...and those were all an hour or two away from each other. I did that for a little over 6 years. I found my current job, a mixture of dialysis and general biomed, acutes and clinics...but these are all within 15 min of each other. This job they asked me what I wanted regarding pay at the end of the long interview and I told them...they didn't give me that but pretty close; what you're actually offering at your place. I don't think I'm making a LOT but I was making 22 at my previous place, 20 at the place before that, about 20 at the place before that. i worked for two big name dialysis companies and then a sort of contract company though they had various branches and did just about EVERYTHING in hospitals so not a small company at all...nationwide too. current company is not quite so large as those other three.
Considering I've always been responsible for 5 clinics (by myself) with a lot of driving (I did get mileage too but still), and I was responsible for auditing ALL the logs every week and then turning in various reports and having staff meetings each month...and all by myself, I felt I should have made more than I was. Now I'm still doing several clinics but I have help, and I'm not responsible for logs at all. I see my pay as a reflection of my experience and abilities...though I still feel they are lacking especially when I get on here and see some of the answers. I've been doing this for a little over 7 or 8 years now so I might be being too hard on myself. But I don't JUST know or just do dialysis now. I am also a bmet 3 at this company, I was a bmet 2 at the last two locations. My starting pay was 18 or so with zero experience. I was told xray/ct biomeds make 36 and hour in my area...but I don't know. Dialysis, especially if you deal with acutes and portable ro's, is a specialty within biomed and pay should reflect that. The more responsibilities and more locations should reflect that to (mileage not included but paid) Just my take on it. I plan to go to xray school and ct's eventually...maybe get into mri as well. Anything to utilize my talents to make more money.
