Unfortunately, I feel I received the bare minimum in training.AND I do get stumped from time to time.I would love to utilize the troubleshooting manual, but it does require having available time. I have 49 machine with around 30k hours...keep me busy. But, my frustration is all the other duties that we are responsible for.Today I was wandering around gathering serial numbers and asset tag info, while having 3 machines down.I don't get help with machines, disinfects vendors, trucks ect. If I had a lot less things on my plate, machines would become a priority again.Rant over...thank you.
Here is how I always look at it.
Priorities
#1 Machines (most patient safety critical)
#2 Water System
#3 Supplies (Remember anyone can do supplies, we have special training others don't for #1 and #2 so this should always go third)
#4 Training
#5 Everything else
Do you have backups and machine PMs done? No, then work on them and tell everyone sorry. I have pushed back to corporate before without issue. As long as you explain the situation and give a realistic timeline most things can be pushed off with ease.
Is the water system good? Yes, did you order supplies? Ask these types of questions every day. I'm not sure who you work for but if it is BigF then I can tell you that the above priority list is supported at corporate biomed. If you have a lot of machine issues see if someone can help you on a Sunday and rebuild all your deaer and flow pumps, replace all loading pressure valves making noise, etc. That will make a big impact on machines.
