Walked in this morning to a machine pulled for "Blood Pump Tach, Blood Pump Rate Alarms" I plugged it in let it go through tests and set the Blood Pump to 40ml/min. The Blood Pump itself doesn't have an error or alarm code, I'm just getting the banner "Blood Pump Stopped" but no audible alarm.
Anyone else have a similar issue in the past?

Does the blood pump actually stop at a flow rate of 40? If it does, I think the blood pump brushes are worn out. I believe it was Fresenius tech support who told me that if the blood pump stops for no apparent reason, try running the pump at minimum speed. If the brushes are bad, the blood pump will likely stop.

does your motor have the removable tach assembly if not you need to get the whole motor and tach assembly

Yes it just stops, But no error on the Blood Pump Mod. It doesn't appear that I can remove the tac. But it does appear i can get to the bolts to take that cap off to get to the brushes still. The Tach is the multi-colored ribbon on the back end of the motor right?? (Bottom left in photo) 8.3.0 BLOOD PUMP (2008T BLUESTARâ„¢) Page 143 in parts guide. So i ended up changing the brushes, they were down to the copper wire. If you do attempt this (I'm not sure if all machines are like this but it made a big hassle trying to work it from the cap and it is impossible to remove), do not take the cap off like normal. Remove the motor from the module and work it from the back side instead of the side where the leads go in. You can't clean the commutator, but you can definitely change the brushes and clean that dust out. After the repair I got an E.03 error on the module, and this is a warrantied error and they are sending me a whole new blood pump module.

Mine did not have that tach, but I was unaware that there was a instruction for this. If you don't have a "removable" tach it is still possible to put new brushes on. If i had to do it again I would think id have better success speaking the one i fixed will never get used again. So did i really fix it? Not 100% but next time I'm pretty confident.

I can not say for sure if the non removable tach can be rebuilt or not. Some 15years ago I know we could rebuild the motors but I have no clue what style motor it was.

I would check cables and connections in the BP mod before anything if you haven't already
