What are the typical causes for DF flow disturbed? I used to have a troubleshooting matrix but lost it, does anyone have a troubleshooting guide for DF flow disturbed?

I did a "DF flow disturbed" google search. It still pulls up the renal web hits. If you open the link in Cached mode, I was able to see the postings. Several comments from SrCusEngr and Hillarious Technician to give you information.

Its usually caused by an air leak.

D(ialysate) F(low) disturbed: Something is causing the flow to be erratic, or imbalanced. An air leak, as was mentioned earlier, can cause a membrane to move further than expected (because air is compressible; water isn't). However; depending on age or hours of the equipment, there may be delamination of the membrane rod causing an erratic sensor value; a defective membrane sensor board; a defective coil (very rare); or the data being sent to the LLC is corrupted.

I have gone through this discussion to resolve the challenge I have with DF FLOW DISTURB. I have checked for leakages in the machine without any trace, check for blockage without any block filter or kink tubings, I then replace the membrane diaphragm, coil and board on the balance chamber. This was done because of working hours of over 25,000 hours. The machine passes the DF test and ask for acid and bicarbonate to be connected, the pumps runs at over 200rpm and stop within 30seconds and alarms appears DF FLOW DISTURB.

I have had this several times. In some cases, it was air getting into the fresh side of the BC (even micro-bubbles can build up from the pumps.) In other cases, I ended up replacing slow closing valves. Yes, I said slow closing. Just remember, 20K valves do not have springs as strong as new valves. A spring can only get weaker, never stronger. And those valves rely on the internal plunger to close quickly. A little mistiming and too much fluid moves.
