I have a bi-bag machine with about 26,000 hours that spews water from the bicarb spike during acid disinfection. Instead of sucking up the citric clean, it's filling the bottle with water. Has anybody seen this before? Took off both acid and bicarb wands from the bottle and the bicarb wand is the only one spitting out water. Springs have been checked and they are good.

did this machine recently have a pm done to it? sounds like the bicarb pump inlet and outlet may have accidently been switched. ain't no shame in it, been there myself.

insure your bicarb rinse port is not bad, sometimes the little ball inside does not seat on the oring use a small #0 philips

@herbiehan, PM was done back in February. @gnurk4, it's not leaking from the rinse port. It's spraying water from the bicarb wand. Inlet and outlet lines are not crossed either. Machine was running fine for a couple of days. This issue arose while the machine was going through an acid clean. Instead of taking in the citric clean, its spewing out water and filling the bottle.

correct, if its filling up the bottle- the bicarb pump inlet and outlet are backwards.

check the springs in the pump and the lines to the pump

after doing a pm i always test the pumps by putting the machine in rinse and watching the air bubbles to insure they are gooing in the right direction and the pump is not leaking

correct, if its filling up the bottle- the bicarb pump inlet and outlet are backwards. Incorrect. There can be other causes downstream that will make this happen.

I agree with Dis... i've had this happen to me too but am having a hard time remembering what the fix was. I'd be looking at valve 100 and 103. Have you double checked 104 AND 108?? If I remember correctly my issue was the interface board or the bibag board. I had fluid flowing out of the acid wand not the bicarb wand....

what about the bibag filter being reversed

So, this is what we've have done so far. Distribution Board 2 has been replaced, bi-bag hydraulics assembly has been replaced, Bi-bag interface board has been replaced, V 104, V 105, and V 108 have all been checked. All in good working order. Machine still spits water from bicarb wand/spike when in Acid clean. I repeat, bicarb wand, not bicarb rinse port. This happens after the 45 second countdown when it's time to suck up the citric clean. Hoses are not crossed. Those have been checked. I am out of ideas. Tech support didn't know as well.

Look at valve 100 and 103. My guess is there is corrosion on the valves from the bibag air separator leaking. One valve is the dialysate valve and one is the disinfect valve. If one of those two valves are staying open you will get back pressure through the wand. Give that a try. I still can’t remember how I fixed it on my machine that had similar issues. The good part is valve 100 and 103 are easy to get at.

pacnw, the bi-bag hydraulic assembly which houses V 100 and 103 has been replaced. Brand new assembly. I just replaced bicarb pump and actuator board with no luck. Still the same issue. Fixing to call tech support, hopefully I'll get somebody different.

Replaced functional board and that fixed the issue. Thanks everyone for the help and input.
