Have any of you experienced a survey with a Federal Surveyor? A bit different - especially if you have been used to your local/regular surveyors. Be prepared for some "looked over" minor things to be in the spotlight.

Here in MD we have 2 different survey agencies. One we call the "state" and it's conducted every 18 months my the MD Commission on Kidney Disease. This survey we get a couple day notice of and it usually takes about half a day. The other one we call "Federal" or "CMS" and is conducted by the MD Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ). OHCQ is part of the state health department and is contracted to do the surveys every 3 years for CMS. They surveys are unannounced surprise visits that are more in depth and usually take 3-5 days.
