Hey has anyone ever seen water inside the card cage? Even on the ceiling inside the machine itself? I had a check valve blow during the post Tx heat. The valve even had a bit of the gray O ring outside the body. Water was spraying inside and leaking all over the floor. It must have been projecting water at the perfect angle to blast it into the card cage. I let it sit all weekend to completely dry out, praying the entire time it would help the situation. Of course it didn't, and it fails over half the tests. Been swapping out boards and I'll most likely just change them all out. Looks like I have work cut out for me on this one.

Not water, but did have a PCT that was opening one morning put his purple Monster drink on top of a machine and then spill it. Thought he'd be slick and clean the outside of the machine, put it in the biomed office, and we'd be none the wiser. I guess he didn't realize that at some point we'd open a non functioning machine to work on it and see purple liquid everywhere.

Yeah. I also had a tech spill an entire gallon of bleach over the top of a machine. That was also a nightmare to get straightened out. When I finally got it all up and running, it still had a popping static like sound coming out of the speaker when it was turned off and plugged in. Had to replace the power supply as well. Took a few weeks to iron it all out.

I wonder if anything happened to the mother board as well. I was trying to think of a situation where one bad board would cause another board to fail, but nothing comes to mind.

We would have this problem quite frequently at one particular clinic. Come to find out the tech was still using the red/white acid/bicarb check valves from Fresenius which are known to us to blow apart like this. Almost a year before we were all told to use the check valves from RPC due to them being a more sturdy plastic. They also come with a more sturdy price too =(

be sure to fill out a product complaint detailing all the problums you are having and fax it to the quality dept or nothing will ever get done when you fill one out fmc has to address it as the fda requires it. I just sent back 2 uf check valves that had come apart due to heat

Seen this a few times myself. What happened for us in the worst case was that the steam rose up into the electronics and fried everything. Power supply, motherboard, all circuit boards, and the entire front panel. It was many thousands in parts by the time we were finished. All over a 2 dollar check valve. Good luck with yours my friend.

We had a nurse who always put the liquid protein on top, I told her several times to not do this because it might spill, of course one day it actually did! what a mess, but for water to shoot at the angle right into the cage is a first!
