Hello all. I have a machine that Chairside is corrupted on and I am trying to create an image off of another machine. I have tried 3 different USB devices and none of them will read inside of Chairside. I choose the "USB Creator" and it reads, "Please insert a USB stick and try again". I have formatted them in 3 different file systems, NTFS, FAT32 and exFAT, all with no luck. I have tried 4 different machines as well with no luck. I have created an image on a stick before but I'm having nothing but trouble this time around. Any ideas?

Tried that but it's faster to watch paint dry than it is for them to get back in touch. I have a ticket out.

Found the fix. I have passwordless readers installed that plug into the USB slot in the back of the machine. I unplugged it and inserted the drive into the back of the machine, it worked and is creating an image now. I could've sworn I've used the front port before when creating one. Also, for future reference as well make sure your blank drive is formatted in NTFS, Linux isn't fond of FAT32.

So, as a linux user, NTFS isnt actually very good, and in most CS classes these days is honestly taught as a no-no. FAT supports up to 2GB, FAT32 only supports thumbdrive ISO image sizes of up to 4 GB and exFAT supports up to a whopping 4 TB, and exFAT is easily readable by all kernel based os's ( Basically all modern OS's). just my 3 cents. also, IIRC the display USB is only for updating the boards and critline, everything else has to be in the rear port.

So, After conferring with IT Services at Corp, here's the takeaway: If you have a 2008T G1 UI Board, you Cannot use it to make a copy of the Bootable USB, you have to call your regional IT personnel and they will have to mail you a thumbdrive, all others can. The easiest way to tell is to look at the bottom of the screen at the "Helpdesk" icon, click it , and if it says "2008T Image Version: internal 2008t-os 6.16.xx then you CAN make a USB as you have a GEN2+ board, if its 6.00.xx then you CANNOT, as you have a Gen 1.
