We have some newer machines that the blood pressure Alarm Limits default is different from our other machines. I see nothing in Svc. Mode that allows for a "default" blood pressure "alarm limit" setting. Is there something I'm missing? Currently staff is not happy about having to verify another setting at the start of treatment.

Have you enabled the default Rx screen? It should show what the default values for the blood pressure alarm limits are. When you press new Tx, the blood pressure limits should go back to the default readings you see on the default screen. Are you sure the alarm limits are going back to a default value, or are they going back to where the last person left them?
What about sodium, bicarb and temperature? Do they go to default or to where the last person left them? On the old machines, those parameters stayed where the last person left them, even when new Tx was pressed.

There are no ways to "set/define" default parameters for the machines in service mode. The "default" settings from FMC are just set that way and techs should be checking/defining BP limits for each patient anyways. Each patient is different and that's why FMC does not have an option for anyone to "set/define" default parameters in service mode. Those are the exact words I got from FMC tech support 3 years ago when techs in one of my clinics raised the question about making new default parameters permanently.
*I know there is inconsistency with the BP alarm limits resetting back when a new TX is initiated. Sometimes it resets the user input settings to the FMC default and sometimes it doesn't.

Thank you Guestnow - you described exactly what staff is asking about and seeing with some machines defaulting to previous setting and some to the default set by the manufacturer.
