Hello everyone, I am having a machine fail Optical detector test. Calibrated level detector already.

you may have to replace the optical detector module on the level detector, insure that your art and venous pressures are calibrated and read zero

check the arterial and venous pressures when the machine is running in dialysis mode at a 800 dfr. the arterial and venous pressures should be 0. if not, try recalibrating the bad pressure. that was what it was for me. It ended up being the venous pressure was reading 10 and throwing off the test for OD.....

Agree usually at atmosphere pressure your art and Venus pressure needs to be 0. A simple art pressure calibration fixed it for me.

It's a learning curve because fresenius doesn't have the way to calibrate it posted anywhere that I could find. but with a peice of paper and adjusting the gain opt det on the board in the venous module I was able to get one calibrated

I've only had optical fail by itself once when I was a new biomed and I replaced the level detector sensor and it fixed the problem. Also I tend to get a machine failing Optical and TMP when pdail goes bad. I have no idea why but whenever I see fail optical and TMP I go straight to calibrating tmp and either that cures it or I get operator error and have to replace pdail.

ive had this come up as a failure during alarm tests before because the staff puts the arterial or venous transducers onto the machine before test as well. both art and ven pressures should be zero and open to atmosphere during the tests

Had this issue before, solved by calibration of arterial pressure

I am having a machine Fail OD: No Art Alarm issue. the machine shows positive 10 Art pressure. I have calibrated it and will not hold calibration after restart. I have now changed LP 956, LP 955, Function board, Sensor board and Actuator-test board all one at a time without change. I am open to ideas of how to get it to hold atmospheric pressure at zero. I am sure it will be simple fix I am overlooking.

try swapping the blood pump module with a known good one, also check the ribbon cables to motherbrd

Wes make sure youre follwing the last step in the calibration procedure where you hit both arrows at once to save the calibration, that burnt me a few times because the screen will say calibration saved, but it's not unless you hit those buttons.

Often people will replace the LP955 board but just unscrew and reuse the same solenoid valve, which works, unless it's the original issue... Anyhow, I ran across this test failure recently on a machine: "Fail OD: No Art Alarm," and with 20+ years in working on Fresenius machines, I had never seen it. I ran across this thread and calibrated the Arterial Pressure, and the alarm went away. Thanks for the help, y'all.
