I have a question.. Both of my clinics at Fresenius I have CWP Ro's along with the heat disinfect nightly. The loops are made of the Teflon. I am pretty new to this type of material. It seems I may have cross threaded a fitting. I was planning on just changing out the fitting but I wanted to see if there is a special way that Teflon fittings have to be installed. Thank You for all your help..

Are you sure it's not PEX?

I wanted to let you know I was able to get the leak fixed. I called Marcor and got a part number for the T fitting. The fitting has everything I needed to get the problem fixed. Thanks for your help..

And, I thought cwp's (and aquaboss) use stainless steel loops because of the heat disinfect?

The Aquaboss uses stainless steel, or PEX for a loop.

robertb mentioned the AquaB, not the AquaBoss. I believe the AquaB is a Fresenius product but I'm not certain.

Yes... Aqua B or Aqua B plus is Fresenius Ro
Aqua Boss is B braun.
If using stainless steel loop, please ensure the loop is heat insulated or else heat disinfection won't be efficient due to massive heat loss.

19 years ago I encountered and worked a Teflon Loop in a hospital's acute / chronic unit, it was actually quite nice to work with, never had bad cultures, even though when I first got there the system hadn't been disinfected for 3 months.

From AAMI 23500: Hot water disinfection systems can be used only in systems constructed from heat-resistant materials, such as PVDF
(polyvinylidene fluoride), PEX (cross-linked polyethylene), SS (stainless steel), PP (polypropylene), and PTFE
(polytetrafluoroethylene) (see B.3.3).
Teflon is a brand name. AAMI uses PTFE to avoid any reference to a brand.

Former Mar Cor installer here. We used Teflon loops for CWP RO’s in Fresenius clinics and Pex for everyone else. We did start using Pex for Fresenius clinics in Illinois when they began to allow use of it. In my opinion Pex is preferred but Teflon works well too.
